Donald J. Farace, 93, 137 Oklahoma Cemetery Road, DuBois, formerly of Sandy Valley, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 28, 2015, at Nelson's Golden Years in DuBois.
Born Oct. 22, 1921, in Reynoldsville, he was a son of the late Donald J. Farace Sr. and Nellie Bliss Ales Farace. He was married to Effie L. Lindenpitz Farace Jan. 10, 1948. She preceded him in death in 2001.
Donald served as a Private First Class with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Before retirement, he worked as a machinist for Paris Manufacturing in Brockway.
Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was Baptist by faith.
Donald is survived by two daughters, Sherry G. (James) Ross of Southport, N.C., formerly of Falls Creek, and Donna L. (George) Stankovich of DuBois; five grandchildren: Corey Ross of Falls Creek, Clayton Ross of Reynoldsville, Christie Ross Walker of Southport, N.C., Jason Stankovich of Wampum, Autumn Yenchi of Jacksonville, Fla.; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Carlton Farace and two sisters, Arlene Farace and Lillian Trunzo.
Friends will be received from noon - 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Eddy officiating. Burial will be in Reynoldsville Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Jefferson County Special Olympics.
