Donald LaMar Morris, 79, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, after complications from a fall in August.
He was born in DuBois on July 30, 1935, to James M. and A. Leona Morris.
After spending 31 years at ITT Grinnell in Warren, Ohio, he retired in 1984 as their manufacturing manager. He then spent an additional 11 years in Henderson, Tenn. as manufacturing manager of their plant. He retired again in 1994.
Don's passions were his family and anything they were involved in. He was the Greatest Steelers Fan in the Steelers Nation and he passed this great love on to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was also a member of The Moose Lodge as well as The Elks.
Don was generous, personable, and kind-hearted. He loved and was well loved.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beverly JoAnne "BoAnne"; five children: David L (Kathy) Morris of Miamisburg; Ohio, Linda (Mike) Cole of Smithfield, R I; Jeff Morris of Warren, Ohio; Pam Morris of Saxonburg, Pa.; Amy (Russell) Felicetty of Hilliard, Ohio. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was also "Uncle Donnie" to many loved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James "Buzz"; and two sisters, Bea Wallace and Lorena "Renee" Marshall.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at the Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, OH 43221.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at the Chapel at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, Ohio. Family will receive friends at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Zusman Community Hospice in c/o Wexner Heritage Village, Attn: Development Office, 1151 College Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43209.
