Donald Lee Strawcutter Lundblad, age 64, of McHugh Avenue, Punxsutawney, Pa., died on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at his residence.
Born on Dec. 13, 1952, he was the biological son of William and Cecil Lundblad Strawcutter. When Donald was a year old, he went to live with and was raised by his aunt and uncle, Aldine and Rudolph Lundblad, who later adopted him. He grew up in Westville, and as an adult he lived in households operated by Bethphage and Fayette Resources.
He was a member of the Beechtree Union Church.
Donald enjoyed family gatherings, participating in Special Olympics, Camp Friendship, fishing rodeos, Run/Walk for Someone Special and other community events.
He is survived by a brother, Robert Lundblad of Allens Mills, Pa.; nine sisters: Joyce (Rev. Howard) Hess of Westville, Gail (Paul) Smith of Upper St. Clair, Pa., Vivian (Gary) Reynolds of Sugar Hill, Patricia (Jack) Lindemuth of Hazen, Beverly (Alan) Lindemuth also of Hazen, Barbara (Daniel) Jones of Hubbard, Ohio, Diana Glenn of Corsica, Connie (Thomas) Burke of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Julia Guntrum of Strattanville, Pa. Donald is also survived by a special family friend, Patty Vaughn of Punxsutawney, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by two brothers, John Lundblad and William Strawcutter.
Donnie touched the hearts of many people over the years and he taught us many life lessons. He loved and was loved by family and friends.
Calling hours will be on Friday, Aug. 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home, Inc., in Brockway. The funeral service will be on Saturday, Aug. 5, at 11 a.m. at the Beechtree Union Church with Pastor Terry Felt officiating. Burial will follow in the Beechtree Cemetery.
