Donna Jean Dangel, 66, Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday morning at Homewood at Martinsburg, after a five-year courageous battle with cancer.
Born Aug. 24, 1948, in DuBois, she was the daughter of Maylon Kirwood and the late Margaret Myers Kirwood. She married Daniel K. Dangel on Feb. 22, 1969, in DuBois.
Donna was a 1966 graduate of DuBois High School and Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She retired from HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Altoona as a registered nurse after 15 years of service. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg.
Donna enjoyed her family and friends, cooking, baking, vacations at Myrtle Beach and playing cards and games.
Surviving are her husband, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage; her father of DuBois; two daughters, Tracy Ward and husband, Scott, of Williamsburg and Jo Ellen Weaver and husband, Joseph, of Abington; three grandchildren: Nick and Anna Ward and Jason Weaver; and two brothers: Randy (Sharon) and Terry, both of DuBois.
She was preceded in death by her mother April 2, 2014.
Friends will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, in the parlor of Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg, followed by a celebration of life service at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Gregg Harbaugh. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Tenley Rehabilitation Unit at Homewood at Martinsburg.
