Doris (Allshouse) Johns Smith, 95, passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at the Brookville Hospital.
She was born April 24, 1920, in Stanton, to the late Harvey and Cora E. (Zimmerman) Allshouse. On July 2, 1964, she married Leonard Johns in Brookville. Leonard preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1993. In January of 1998, she married Daniel Smith. Daniel preceded her in death April 16, 1999.
She retired from the Glove Factory as a supervisor, and she worked as a greeter at the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville.
She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Bible study, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She is survived by one sister, Betty Jane (Ben) Carroll, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and one great-great-great-niece.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Wilson, Ralph, and Donald Allshouse; one sister, Dora (Alford) Nelson; one niece, Susan (John) Benner; and one nephew, Frederick Allshouse.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at the McKinney – d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main. St., Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, also at the funeral home, with the Rev. Chuck Jack officiating. Interment is to take place at St. Johns Cemetery (Windy Hill) in Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa.
