Dorothy J. Hamilton, 87, 1316 Worth St., Reynoldsville, died Sunday evening, Feb. 8, 2015, at UPMC Altoona.
Born Feb. 15, 1927, she was a daughter of the late John O. and Hattie Huntington McPherson. She married Robert W. Hamilton Jr. May 7, 1947. He preceded her in death April 7, 1974.
Dorothy was a 1945 graduate of Reynoldsville High School. She retired as a head cook for DuBois Area School District after 25 years of service.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Reynoldsville and enjoyed visiting the Soldier Community Church.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Linda D. (Frank) Lenkerd of Reynoldsville, Bonnie J. (Donald) Drayer of Reynoldsville; five grandchildren: Brian Lenkerd of Reynoldsville, Jason (Tiffany) Lenkerd of DuBois, Toby (Karina) Lenkerd of DuBois, Torie (Jayson) Sedor of Sykesville, Gina (Greg) Owens of Palm Harbor, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren: Tyler, Brayten, Madisyn, Xavier, Jaden, Jesalyn and Bryan; and a special friend, Donald Marchioni of Reynoldsville.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Ralph McPherson and two sisters, Florence Hamaker and Gladys Wayland.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the First Baptist Church in Reynoldsville. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Robin Fernandez officiating. Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home of Reynoldsville.
