Dorothy L. Stover, 101, Luthersburg, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Nelson's Golden Years.
Born July 7, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ivy (Swartzlander) Faudie.
She married LeRoy Stover on March 7, 1935, in Sandy Township. He preceded her in death in June 1985.
Dorothy graduated from Brady Township High School in 1934. She had been employed at Woolworth's and Tamler's department stores as well as the Golden Yoke Restaurant. Dorothy was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church in Luthersburg and a Charter member of the Brady Township Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crosswords, and being with her family.
She is survived by her children, Betty Sunealitis of Soldier, Delores (Donald) Corp of St. Marys, James (Beverly) Stover of Clearfield, and Jane (Donald) Smith of Luthersburg; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by two infant grandsons; three brothers, Edgar, Eugene, and Homer Faudie; her sister, Mildred Bankowski; and her son-in-law, Sonny Sunealitis.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. in DuBois. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Richard Howe officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Luthersburg.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Brady Township Fire, Rescue, and Ambulance, P.O. Box 157, Luthersburg, PA 15848 or to the Luthersburg United Methodist Church, 90 Luthersburg-Rockton Rd., Luthersburg, PA 15848.
