Edna Maxine Swab (1927 - 2016)

Edna Maxine Swab of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Reynoldsville, Pa., and Binghamton, N.Y., died Aug. 31, 2016, in Nashville.
Born Sept. 10, 1927, in Reynoldsville, Pa., Maxine is predeceased by her parents, Harry Alonzo Dickey and Blanche Wayland Dickey Long; her brother, Calvin Dickey; and her late husband of 57 years, Jacob Henry Swab (Henry). All resided in Reynoldsville.
Known as Maxine to her family and friends, she graduated from Reynoldsville High School in 1946.
Maxine was a mother, a homemaker and worked at the Gondola Restaurant. In her retirement, she and Henry loved traveling around the U.S. and spent several years snowbirding at their retirement home in Florida.
Survivors include her daughter, Wanda (Gary) Becker of Nashville, Tenn.; her sons, John (Elaine) Swab of Simpsonville, S.C., Joseph (Shelia) Swab of Greenville, Ky. and Kenneth Swab of Nashville, Tenn. She is also survived by her seven granddaughters: Kim Becker and Tamara Becker of Chicago, Ill.; Christina Becker of Kingston, Ontario, Canada; Chelsea (Jordan) Smith of Nashville, Tenn.; Gabrielle Swab of Oxford, Miss.; Amelia Swab and Johanna Swab of Simpsonville, S.C.; and one greatgrandson, Luke Smith. Also surviving Maxine are sisters Zelma Mowery Smith and Doris Jane Biggie of Reynoldsville, Pa.; brother, Howard (Cindy) Dickey of Reynoldsville, Pa.; sister, Blanche Weary of Brookville, Pa.; sister-in-law Shirley Dickey of Reynoldsville, Pa.; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Bernard Snyder Funeral Home, Reynoldsville, Pa., from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, with services at 3 p.m.
