Edwin F. James, 90, DuBois, formerly of Wellsboro, passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born June 4, 1924, in Berwick, he was the son of the late Harry and Luella Wolfanger James. On Nov. 3, 1950, he married June Alexander James, who passed away Feb. 18, 1999.
Edwin served in the United States Navy. He retired from Consolidate National Gas of Luthersburg after 32 years of service. He was a social member of Fourth Ward Hose Co.
Edwin is survived by his son, Steven P. James Sr. of DuBois; and a grandson, Steven P. James Jr., also of DuBois; and two brothers, William Russell James of Ely, Nev., and Larue (Audrey) James of Knoxville.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Rankin; and a brother, Howard James.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel Inc., DuBois. Additional viewing will be held at the Carleton Funeral Home, Wellsboro, from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, with the Rev. Eugene A. Charsky officiating at the Carleton Funeral Home: 11470 Route 6, Wellsboro, PA. Full military honors will be accorded by Tioga County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Oregon Hill Cemetery.
