Effie Mae Brown, 92, 544 Hill Street, Reynoldsville, died early Saturday morning, Sept. 6, 2014, at Jefferson Manor, Brookville.
Born Dec. 8, 1921, in Rathmel, she was a daughter of the late William Weiss and Elvassa Henery Weiss.
On Sept. 21, 1940, she was married to Thomas E. Brown. He preceded her in death March 16, 1979.
Effie Mae was a 1939 graduate of Reynoldsville High School. Before retirement, she had worked as a secretary for Drs. Hill, Murray and Carlino for many years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Reynoldsville.
She was a member of the I.F.F. Sunday School class and a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 220, Reynoldsville.
She was the last surviving member of her family.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home, Reynoldsville. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Carr and Leo Cramer officiating.
Burial will be in Panic Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
