Ethel Jean Snyder, 82, 503 Welles St., Elmira, N.Y., died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at Chemung Co. Nursing Home, Elmira, N.Y., after a brief illness.
Born Oct. 7, 1931, in DuBois, she was a daughter of the late Francis Ball and Esther Milliron Ball. She was married to Donald E. Snyder on Nov. 9, 1950. He survives.
She was a 1949 graduate of DuBois High School.
She was Lutheran by faith and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a retired employee of Elmira School District cafeteria staff.
Survivors also include three sons: Donald R. (Suzanne) Snyder of Pine City, N.Y., John F. (Barbara) Snyder of Matthews, N.C., Thomas L. (Lori) Snyder of Elmira, N.Y.; a sister, Mary Bell Shirey of Pittsburgh; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, with the Rev. Timothy Spence officiating. Burial will be in the Syphrit Cemetery, Reynoldsville.
