Evelyn "Marie" Bedell, 94, of DuBois, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was born on Oct. 24, 1921, in Cannonsburg, Pa., the daughter of the late Henry and Luella (Dolby) Ledger. On June 3, 1944, she married Cullen R. Bedell, who passed away Nov. 19, 2007.
Evelyn attended Sandy Township High School. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She worked as a supervisor at Cameron Manufacturing Company in Reynoldsville and Shortway Products in Clearfield.
She was an avid shopper always buying gifts for others; her family would often refer to her as a "Molly." She also enjoyed decorating and caring for her home, but above all she enjoyed being with her family.
Evelyn is survived by her son Bradley and his wife Leah Bedell of DuBois and a daughter-in-law, Beverly Ledger of Luthersburg; four grandchildren: Jeannie Dunworth, Debbie Ledger, Joann Tudor and James Tudor Jr.; five great-grandchildren: Pamela (Kip) Null, Daniele (Mike) Hoare, Jim Dunworth, Krysta Tudor and Eric Tudor; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, James C.Ledger; and a daughter, Coleen Tudor; five brothers: Henry, James, William, John and George Ledger and five sisters: Grace Bogle, Alda Arcure, Ruth Gamber, Ida Hand and Agnes Holes. She was the last member of her immediate family.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. with Rev. David Nagele officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 1 until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, at the funeral home. An additional hour of viewing will be held on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
