Floyd C. Burley Jr., age 87, of Smithtown Road, Falls Creek, died Friday, March 30, 2018, at Christ the King Manor.
Born March 27, 1931 in Tyler, Pa., he was the son of the late Floyd Burley Sr. and Hattie (Cribbs) Burley. He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian on Aug. 4, 2017.
Floyd was an Army veteran serving with the military police in Alaska.
He worked for Gray Printing and Owens-Illinois in Brockway until his retirement in 1993.
He enjoyed writing journals about his life and family. He enjoyed time spend at his camp in Benezette. He enjoyed his grandchildren and family at weekly Sunday dinners.
He is survived by three sons, Kenneth Burley of Falls Creek, William Burley of DuBois and David (Michele) Burley of Falls Creek; a brother, Harold (Patsy) Burley of DuBois; and three grandchildren, Renee (Michael) Gressler of DuBois, Megan (Jordan) Hoover of DuBois and Zachary Burley (fiancee Jennifer Holley) of Philadelphia.
He was preceded in death by one son, Randy Burley; three sisters, Rosa McConnell, Mary Bish, Lois Stockdale; and two infant brothers.
There will be no public visitation. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Smithtown Community Church in Falls Creek with Pastor Harold Hills officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
