Floyd John Heffner of Denton, Md., died Sunday, Dec.13, 2015, at the Envoy of Denton. He was 78 years old.
Born in DuBois, Pa., on July 9, 1937, Mr. Heffner was the son of the late Floyd J. Heffner Sr. and Violet Mae Schwab Heffner. His wife, Joyce Heffner, died in 1983.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Heffner had graduated from the Sandy Township High School. He had been a construction superintendent for a general contractor. He had moved to Denton in 2012.
Mr. Heffner is survived by his son, Brian Heffner (Christy) of Huntingtown, Md.; a daughter, Virginia "Jenny" Jennette (Andy) of Denton; two brothers, Carl Heffner of Reynoldsville, Pa., and Jay Heffner of Rockton, Pa.; one sister, June Tomlinson of Lancaster, Pa.; and four grandchildren: Anna, Carlee, Cassidy and Brian.
The graveside committal will be held at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD 20722 at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the burial site. Flowers should be sent to the same address, attention Floyd J. Heffner 1 p.m. 12-16-15 service.
