George M. Thomson Sr., 63, South Street, Brockway, died Saturday, Oct. 18 at his residence.
Born Dec. 8, 1950, in Johnson City, N.Y.; he was the son of Merwin H. and Caroline Pangburn Thomson. He was married to Donna Beck on Jan. 22, 1972.
Retired, George had worked in building supplies as a salesman and both at Christ the King Manor and the old Pennsylvania Memorial Home in Brookville as a C.N.A.
He was protestant by faith.
He was a member of the Orient Club, Brockport Army/Navy Club, Horton Twp. Sportsmens Club and was a member at the Eagles Clubs in Both Reynoldsville and Brookville. George also served as a former Cub Scout/Boy Scout Leader for 10 years, worked as an attendant for the Brockway Ambulance Service and coached soccer for the Brockway Soccer Association.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and NASCAR. He truly was a jack of all trades.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Caroline Thomson of Loves Park, Ill.; two sons: George (Melissa) Thomson Jr. of High Point, N.C. and Jason (Jennifer) Thomson of Huddleston, Va.; eight sisters: Merwina Gamble of Detroit, Mich.; Terry Mahosky of Pittsburgh; Patricia Ribovich of Rockford, Ill.; Carol Tice of Mainesburg, Calli Thomson, Cassie Thomson, Joy Thomson of Quakertown, and Sabrine Thomson of Loves Park, Ill.; two brothers: Christian Thomson of Blossburg and Merwin Thomson Jr. of Sebastian, Fla. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Harold Hills officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Cub Scout Pack/Boy Scout Troop 40 or the Eagles Clubs in Reynoldsville or Brookville.
