Gertrude A. Gearhart, 71, Hanes Drive, DuBois, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at the home of her daughter in Punxsutawney.
Born Oct. 25, 1942, in Rockton, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Cecelia Shubert Gelnett.
Gertrude was employed by the Hampton Inn of DuBois since its inception 18 years ago and she took great pride in her job.
She was also a homemaker who cherished being with her family and friends.
She is survived by three children: Robert Gearhart and his wife, Michele, of DuBois, Donna Campagnola and her husband, Rodney, of Punxsutawney, and Nancy Shelton and her husband, Jay, of Farmville, Va.; a sister, Mary King of Farmville, Va.; six grandchildren: Amber and Colton Gearhart, Teia Campagnola and Ashley Emhoff and her husband, Kevan,; and Amanda and Justin Shelton; and three great-grandchildren: Preston Powell, Sawyer Smathers and Evangeline Gearhart.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Gearhart; six brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Bockus officiating. Burial will follow in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
