Glenna Brooks Schneider, 84, died on Jan. 1, 2017, in Anniston, Ala.
Born on Dec. 2, 1932, in Troutville, Pa., she was the daughter of Clifford Earl Brooks (1910-1995) and Esther Viola Kuntz Brooks (1912-2001). A 1950 graduate of DuBois High School, DuBois, Pa., Glenna was a retired homemaker. She married her high school sweetheart, William Rehling "Bill" Schneider (1929-2009) on April 25, 1952, in DuBois. Bill was a prominent industrial executive and the couple resided in Lewiston, N.Y., St. Marys, Pa., and Charleston, S.C., during his career, before retiring in Mount Pleasant, S.C. Glenna later relocated to Anniston to be near family.
Glenna suffered from lung cancer, but was able to enjoy an independent life through the holidays, celebrating Thanksgiving with her family, her birthday and her great-grand-daughter's birthday in December, and finally a full day of family activities on Christmas.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her oldest son, William Frederick Schneider, II (1953-2013). She is survived by her son, David Brooks Schneider and his fiancée Dianna Michaels of Anniston, Ala.; one grandson, William Michael Brooks Schneider, of Anniston, Ala., his wife Julie Weems Schneider, and her great-granddaughter, Caroline Elizabeth Schneider; her sister, Janice Rae (Mrs. William) Keen of Hanover, Pa.; her sisters-in-law, Linda Schneider of DuBois, and Marla McMahon of Columbus, Ohio; and two aunts, Bernice Brooks Weber of Grove City, Pa., and Jean Brooks Wilson of DuBois, Pa.
Interment will be at Morningside Cemetery in DuBois. A memorial service will be held at the Treasure Lake Church on Jan. 21, 2017, at 3 p.m.
