Gloria A. Butz, 70, Route 28 (Sugar Hill), Brockway died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at her residence.
Born Nov. 19, 1944, in Kissinger Mills, she was the daughter of the late Clinton E. and Rachel J. Teeter Runyan. She was married in August of 1985 to Willard "Buzz" Butz. He survives.
Retired, Gloria had been employed in the corrugated department and as a mould cleaner at Brockway Glass and eventually Ross Mould for more than 30 years. She also worked for another five years at the Sheetz store in Brockway as the coffee hostess. Gloria was a member at the Brockway Church of God in Brockway. She enjoyed collecting angels and dolls.
Gloria was a very strong woman with an incredible belief in the Lord that served as a tremendous inspiration to many people.
Survivors include a daughter, Shanna (Bob) Scull of Noxen; a son, Larry (Pam) Clever of Brookville; two sisters, Geraldine "Geri" (Dennis) Pisarcik of Brockway; Rachel (Jack) Hepler of Kersey; two brothers, Melvin (Geri) Runyan of Kersey and Richard (Eileen) Runyan of Brockport; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Stephen of Bethlehem, Betty Jo Butz of Bangor; and a stepson, Willie Stephen of Allentown. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Scott Clever; and a brother, Lawrence Runyan.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20 at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Nagele officiating. Burial will follow in the Temple Cemetery at Hazen. Memorial donations may be made to the Brockway Church of God.
