Guy Louis Sarvey, 91, Brookville, died Monday, May 18, 2015, at Clarion Hospital.
Born July 4, 1923, in Brookville, he was a son of the late Guy C. and Mabel C. Shunk Sarvey.
Mr. Sarvey was a United States Army Veteran having served during World War II. During his service time he earned numerous medals, the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze stars and World War II Victory Medal.
On July 4, 1971, at nearly 1 a.m. he married Dorothy Marie Hannold. She survives and resides in Brookville.
Guy worked as a mechanic/welder at Humphrey Charcoal for many years.
He was a member of the Brookville Eagles #983 and the VFW Post #204. His enjoyments were coon and deer hunting and riding quads.
He is also survived by two sons, Drew John Sarvey of Punxsutawney, and Jack Michael (Mary) Sarvey of Brookville; one brother, Larry Sarvey of Brookville; two sisters, Ellen Tokar of Brockway and Patricia Skinner of Brookville; and seven grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Robert L. Sarvey; an infant daughter; four brothers: Drew, Robert, Richard and William Sarvey.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Brookville. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Henry Scoff. Interment will follow at Emerickville United Methodist Church Cemetery, Emerickville.
