Harold Francis McGlynn, age 87, of Winter Park, Fla, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016, at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville, Pa.
Harold was born on Dec. 22, 1928, in DuBois, Pa., to the late Francis and Catherine (Pewalis, Lazor) McGlinsky. He was first married to Dorothy Shaffer who survives him. After their divorce, he made a home with his loving friend, Doris Canada, for the last 25 years.
He graduated from Sandy Township High School in 1946.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953, and then later he graduated from Penn State University in 1957.
Harold was a mechanical engineer by trade and was employed at Rockwell Manufacturing from 1961 to 1978 until he moved to Florida for work. In Florida he worked for Simplimatic (ACME Conveyer) then moved on to Conveyer Systems, Inc., from 1996 to 2001, when he retired.
He enjoyed traveling and loved boating and fishing; he also loved to return to Pennsylvania to hunt with family and friends.
Harold is survived by two sisters, Dorothy (Terry) Hook of Brockway, Pa., and Sandra Petitti of Brookville, Pa.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were taken care of privately by the family and handled by the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home of Brookville, Pa.
