Hazel Hollopeter, 100, formerly of Rockton, returned to her heavenly home March 17, 2017, at Cross Keys Village the Brethren Home, a loving and caring community in New Oxford, Pa. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to family and friends, as well as her firm belief in God. She had a beautiful smile, a lively spirit, and kind way about her that touched the heart of all who had the pleasure to know her.
She was born Jan. 2, 1917, in DuBois, Pa., daughter of the late John and Solmie Nolen. She was married to Lambert Hollopeter; he preceded her in death. Hazel is also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Zuchowski; and two sisters, Bertha Hetrick and Lula Heffner.
Hazel was a graduate of DAHS. She had previously worked for the DuBois Credit Bureau. Formerly a member of the Church of Brethren in Rockton where she was an organist and Sunday school teacher. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed painting and crafting.
Hazel is survived by two children, Dale Hollopeter of Castle Rock, Colo., and Donna Arthur of Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Karen Hall of Yuma, Ariz., and Steven Zuchowski of Fredericksburg, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Zoey and Ayden Zuchowski.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hazel's name to the Good Samaritan Fund at Cross Keys Village.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Rockton Cemetery.
