Helen E. Urmann, 88, formerly of 340 Allenhurst Ave., Ridgway, died Friday morning at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.
She was born June 3, 1926, in Ridgway, a daughter of the late Joseph V. and Ruth McMackin Urmann.
She had resided in Ridgway all of her life and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church.
Helen enjoyed reading, gardening and playing bridge. She was a graduate of St. Leo High School and also a graduate of Seton Hill College. She had been employed by Brockway Glass for 40 years.
She is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Sister Ann Loretta of Erie, James Urmann of Singer Island, Fla., John Urmann of St. Marys and Ruth Anne O'Connor of Port Orange, Fla.; and the following nieces and nephews: Marilyn (John) Stott, William (Teddi) Urmann, James (Rena) Urmann, Christine (Michael) Aiello, John (Maribeth) Urmann, Greg (Christine) Urmann, LuAnne (David) Stanley, Stacey (Frank) Rubino, Maureen (Sean) Durkin, Thomas (Melissa) O'Connor, John (Julie) O'Connor; 34 great nieces and nephews and four great great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Joseph Urmann.
Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home in Ridgway from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014.
A Memorial Mass for Helen E. Urmann will be celebrated at St. Leo Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2014. Officiating will be the Rev. Fr. Brian E. Vossler, pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Leo Cemetery.
Memorial donations, if desired, can be made to St. Leo's School or to Ridgmont Assisted Living, or to the Ridgway Public Library.
