Helen Marie Ferraraccio, 70, Carnegie, Pa., died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018 at Family Hospice Palliative Care in Pittsburgh.
Born at the DuBois Hospital on March 25, 1947, Helen was the daughter of the late John Rubino and Rose Marie (Schalk) Ferraraccio.
Helen was a graduate of DuBois Central Catholic High School in 1965 and attended Mercyhurst University in Erie. Helen became one of the pianists and organists at St. Catherine of Siena for a period of time. Later, she studied at the Duquesne School of Music from which she furthered her lifelong passion of music and became an accomplished pianist, organist, and musician. Thereafter and for many years, Helen was employed by many Catholic churches in the Pittsburgh Diocese to play the organ and/or piano at various masses, funerals, and weddings, as well as perform the duties of choir director at several of these same Catholic churches. Through her passion for music, she taught numerous students in the Pittsburgh area how to play the piano and organ. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. Helen was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church.
Helen is survived by her beloved brother, Attorney Blaise (Linda) Ferraraccio of DuBois, her cherished niece, Mrs. Marissa Denise (Kyle Culver) Ferraraccio of Gaithersburg, Maryland, and her treasured nephew, John Francis Ferraraccio.
