Hilda Marie McAninch, 93, a guest at the Jefferson Manor, formerly of Brookville (Belgiumtown), died Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at Jefferson Manor, Brookville.
Born June 8, 1921, in KnoxDale, she was the daughter of the late John Dinger and Myrtle Brown Dinger. She was married to Clarence B. "Bunny" McAninch for 61 years. He preceded her in death Aug. 1, 2003.
She worked for the kitchen staff at the Pennsylvania Memorial Home in Brookville.
Survivors include three sons: Richard McAninch, David McAninch and John McAninch, all of Brookville; a brother, Harry Dinger of Brookville; eight grandchildren: Kim Braughler, Amy Sherman; Steve, Tim, Brad, Ben and Jeff McAninch, and Stephanie McAninch; 11 great-grandchildren: Kayla Clark, Payton McAninch, Bruce and Heath McAninch, Emily, Bethany and Amber McAninch; Madison and Kaylee McAninch, Ryan and Jarret Braughler; and one great-great grandson, Easton Clark.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters: Bernice Keatley, Lucille Eshbaugh, Mary Switzer and Vada Calderwood; a brother, Everett Dinger; and a daughter-inlaw, Mary E. McAninch.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Timothy McConville officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, KnoxDale.
