Irene T. Pifer, 97, of Rock Dump Road, Reynoldsville, Pa., died Thursday May 18, 2017, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born in Reynoldsville April 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Lena Henninger and the wife of the late Lyle Pifer.
She was a graduate of the Reynoldsville High School. She was a former employee of Cameron Manufacturing and Owens-Illinois Glass Company, where she held the position of secretary to the plant manger.
She loved playing the organ and was the organist at Reynoldsville Presbyterian Church for over 40 years. She was a member of the Paradise U.C.C. and the Utopia Club.
She is survived by her son, Rodney Pifer Sr. (Karen); grandson, Rodney Pifer Jr. (Penny); great-grandchildren Derren and Jeanie, all of Reynoldsville, Pa.; and brother, David Henninger (Gale) of DuBois, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, in 1992; sisters, June Lavosky and Dorothy Curry; four brothers: John, Leonard, Edward and Albert.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017, at Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., located at 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851, with the Rev. Steven J. Hendrickson officiating. Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville, Pa.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home Inc.
