Jacquelin June (Tipps) Wert

The Guest Book is expired.

Jacquelin June Tipps Wert, 77, of Treasure Lake, DuBois, formerly of Woburn, Mass., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015.
She was born May 23, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, to George Tipps and Bernice Garland, who both preceded her in death. She grew up in Plainfield, Indiana, and upon graduating high school, Jackie attended nursing school in Boston, Mass.
It was in the Boston area that she met the love of her life, Dr. J. Robert Wert, DMD, who survives. They made their life together for over 50 years in the Boston area before moving to Pennsylvania in the fall of 2013.
Among her interests were singing in the church choir, crocheting and knitting, taking pictures, learning more about her Cherokee ancestry and spending time with friends and family along with the family cat, Midnight.
Jackie was an inspiration for others with her positive attitude. She was a survivor of breast cancer and proud of surviving as a Type 1 diabetic for nearly 55 years.
In addition to her husband, Jacquelin is survived by one brother, Daniel Tipps of Texas and two sisters, Lois White and Patty Estes of Indiana. Also surviving are two children, Patricia Brennan (J. Patrick) of Nashua, N.H. and James Wert (Melinda) of Treasure Lake; as well as four grandchildren: John, Robert, Elizabeth, and Jennifer Brennan.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Janet, and two infant children, Katherin and David.
Arrangements for Jackie are being coordinated by the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of DuBois and her family is planning a small ceremony in the Treasure Lake area. The family also hopes to have a memorial ceremony in the Boston area in the spring of 2015.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to either Nature Abounds (co-founder is her son) at PO Box 506, DuBois, PA 15801 or to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Suite 745, Boston, MA 02215.
