James A. Mohney, 92, of Reynoldsville, Pa., died on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at his home in Reynoldsville, Pa.
Born Sunday, Oct. 5, 1924, in Reynoldsville, Pa., he was the son of the late Walter Mohney Sr. and the late Blanche (Shobert) Mohney. He was the husband of Mildred I. (Keller) Mohney for 64 years.
He was a 1942 graduate of Reynoldsville High School. He served as a Technical Sergeant in the 8th U.S. Air Force during World War II and completed 33 missions over Eastern Europe in a B17. He worked for the PA Railroad and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1984.
He was a member of Reynoldsville Trinity Lutheran Church, Reynoldsville Eagles, American Legion Post #392 where he served as financial secretary for many years and was a former Post Commander. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching Pittsburgh Pirate games.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Carl Mohney of Roanoke, Va., and Keith Mohney (Barbara) of Punxsutawney, Pa.; sisters, Betty Snyder of Reynoldsville, Pa., and Shirley Campanini (Nick) of California; and three grandchildren, Kyle, Keaton, and Kaston.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Melvin "Pete," Walter Jr. "Gramp" and Max Mohney; sister, Dorothy Bordan; and grandson, Tanner Mohney.
Per James' request, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Benjamin Austin will be officiating. Military honors will be preformed by the DuBois Area Honor Guard following the service. Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville, Pa.
