James A. "Allan" Weis Sr., age 76, Falls Creek, Pa., died Monday, June 12, 2017, at his home.
Born March 15, 1941, in Old Fort, N.C., he was the son of the late Raymond R. and Katherine "Katie" (Connor) Weis.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War.
On Sept. 16, 1967, he married Joyce (Stankavich) Weis. She survives.
He was a spec tester at Brockway Glass Manufacturing in Brockway for many years.
Allan was a member of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church in Falls Creek and St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in DuBois.
He loved fishing and the outdoors. His favorite hobby, however, was photography. He won many awards for his work.
Allan is survived by a son, James A. "Jamie" Weis, Jr. of Brockway, Pa.; three brothers, Richard "Dick" Weis and his wife, Arlene of DuBois, Pa., Tom Weis and his wife, Linda of DuBois, Pa., and Jerry Weis of Falls Creek, Pa.; and one sister, Cathy Snyder of Reynoldsville, Pa.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Weis.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., DuBois.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at 11 a.m. from the Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., with Fr. Matias Quimno officiating.
Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery.
