James J. Dezack Sr., age 70, Madison Avenue, DuBois, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 10, 1945, in St. Marys, he was the son of the late Joseph Dezack and Lena (Ruberto) Dezack.
He retired from the former Curwensville State Bank after over 20 years of service in the collections office. Previous to that, he had worked at DuBois Consumer Discount.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.
He enjoyed following sports, especially football and baseball. He was a pioneer of fantasy sports leagues in the DuBois Area in the 1980s. He also was an avid gardener.
James is survived by his son, James M. Dezack Jr. of DuBois; a sister, Dr. Margaret Dezack Stengel, PhD and her husband, Ronald, of Valley Forge.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Lawrence.
There will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home in DuBois with the Rev. Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mark's Cemetery in Emporium.
