James J. Heinze, "Diesel Jim," 69, passed away suddenly at his residence on Friday, May 27, 2016.
James was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey, on Oct. 23, 1947, and joined the U.S. Navy faithfully and honorably serving his country during the Vietnam War.
James was a talented diesel mechanic for 40 years owning and operating Big Run Diesel for 21 years before retiring and passing his legacy and business on to his son, Jeff Heinze. In addition to his love for mechanics and his diesel business, James enjoyed restoring vintage steel toys, particularly Tonka trucks and antique tractors. Never one to sit still even in retirement, he kept busy not just restoring vintage steel toys, but also tinkering around the house, mowing grass, and spending time with his grandchildren; Issac Hanley, Justin, Renee and Lauralai Heinze. He especially cherished his time with his loving wife of 39 years, Andrea Heinze.
James is survived by his wife, Andrea; his three sons whom he passed his legacy on to: James Heinze and wife Kimberlee of DuBois, Kevin Heinze and girlfriend Amberly Jordan of Walston and Jeff Heinze and wife Jennifer of Stump Creek; grandchildren, Isaac Hanley, Justin, Renee and Lauralai Heinze; a special neice, Theresa Pramov.
