Joan E. (LaBorde) Withey, 67, Luthersburg-Rockton Road, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.
She was born March 29, 1949, in Clearfield, daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Leonard) LaBorde.
Joan was a graduate of DuBois Area High School. She worked as a printer at Lead World Inc. in New Kensington.
She was Methodist by faith.
She loved spending time with her family, her dog Boo and her birds. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
She was full of laughter and shared that with family and friends. She will be sadly missed and always loved to the moon and back.
Joan is survived by her three children: John Withey Jr. and wife Michele of Reynoldsville, Mrs. Daniel (Valaria) Henry of Luthersburg, and Stacy Withey and friend Jeff Stiver of Stump Creek; a sister, Mrs. Chester (Nancy) Smohek; and a twin brother, John LaBorde and wife Brenda of Stump Creek; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in Sykesville. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Kenneth Sherwood officiating. Burial will take place in Sykesville Memorial Cemetery.
