Joeffrey A. Delia, 96, Caruso Road, Brockway, Pa., died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born in Brockway on Dec. 28, 1919, he was the son of the late Tony and Mary Frances Paladino Delia. He was married to Josephine P. Carlini. She preceded him in death Dec. 14, 2012.
Retired, Joeffrey had been employed at Brockway Glass as a compressor room attendant.
He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army as a high speed radio operator.
Joeffrey was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway. He was a member of the Horton Twp. Sportsmen's Club, enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening.
He is survived by three sons: Robert (Julie) Delia of Horseheads, N.Y., Thomas (Debby) Delia of DuBois; Michael Delia of Brockway; one sister, Eleanor Aravich also of DuBois; two brothers, Louis Delia of Brockway, William Delia of Crenshaw; three grandchildren: Ray Zavatsky, Matt Delia, Diane London and eight great-grandchildren: Sarah, Lauren, Jack, Max, Danielle, Jessica, Aaron and Isaac.
In addition to his parents and his wife he was also preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Delia; and a sister, Christine Delia.
Calling hours will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12 at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13 at St. Tobias Church with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion Wednesday morning at the church.
