Johanna M. Veltri, 100, Broad Street, Brockway, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Feb. 15, 1915, in Curwensville, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Hedwiga Kubista Stricek. She was married to Victor Veltri. He preceded her in death March 3, 2007.
Johanna was a homemaker. She was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway. She also was a member of the Rosary Society and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. She enjoyed listening to Judge Judy and the news.
Johanna is survived by a son, Gregory (Sandy Fultz) Veltri of Brockway; a brother, John Stricek of Curwensville; two granddaughters, Renee and Brittany Veltri; and four great-grandchildren: Emily, Rylan, Marley and Lucy.
She was also preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. this evening (Friday, March 27) at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A vigil service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at St. Tobias Church with the Rev. Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery.
