John E. "Jack" "Pap" Wachob, 75, Troutville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born June 16, 1940, in DuBois, he was the son of Lynne and Sophia (Voyton) Wachob.
Jack married Charlotte Gilbert on July 23, 1960, at the Salem United Methodist Church. She survives.
Jack was a 1959 graduate of Brady Township High School and was employed as a professional truck driver. Jack enjoyed hunting, working in his yard, being with friends and family, and going to casinos. Jack was also known to be a restaurant connoisseur. He was Protestant by faith.
Jack is also survived by four daughters: Pam (Manny) Klaiber of DuBois, Connie (Bill) Johnston of Troutville, Bonnie Gray of Wharton, Pa., and Jackie (Bryan) Haag of Troutville; eight grandchildren: Amanda (Chris) Klaiber, Josh (Debbie) Klaiber, Jessica Johnston, Adam Pearce, Mitchel Johnston, Jenn Haley Gray, Keith (Gina) Haag, Steven and Kayla Haag and Jamie Haag; 13 great-grandchildren; his mother, Sophia Simko; a sister, Virginia (Francis) Robinson; and three step-sisters, Jean, Jane, and Jenn.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Lynne Wachob.
Family and friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. with Rev. Barry Fillman officiating. Interment will be in the Troutville United Church of Christ Cemetery.
