John F. Lovenduski (1929 - 2016)

John F. Lovenduski of Force, Pa., passed away June 3, 2016, at the age of 86 in his home surrounded by loved ones. His illness was brief.
John was born on June 16, 1929, in Force, Pa., the son of Peter and Helen Visneski Lovenduski. He was one of 10 children.
On April 25, 1953 he married Pauline Lease.
John served as a corporal in the United States Army Corps of Engineers and fought in the Korean War.
After returning from the war, he worked at Airco Speer for 45 years. During his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren. John, who always smiled, also possessed a great sense of humor and shared his positive view on life to everyone. Simple joys in life were very important to him. He had a daily routine of caring for his son Joey's chickens with his dog Emma, having coffee with the guys at the Valley Farm Market "Coffee Club," and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Penguins.
John is survived by his wife, Pauline; his sons Tim, Joey and his wife Kelly; daughter Dorothy Ferrari and her husband Geno. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.
Family and friends will be received at Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield from 4:30-8 p.m. Monday, June 6, and from 11-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 7.
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, June 7, at St Joseph's Church in Force, with Father Ross Miceli officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph cemetery with military rites to be accorded by the B.V. American Legion Post #978 Burial Detail.
Donations may be given to Jay Township Fire Department, Weedville American Legion, or Bennett's Valley Ambulance.
