John R. Nestor, 83, Maple Avenue, DuBois, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at his home.
Born May 10, 1931, in Westville, he was the son of the late R. John Nestor and Marjorie Hemphill Nestor Lundberg.
In June of 1953, he married Barbara (Porrin) Nestor. She survives.
He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Army as a military policeman.
John was a construction worker and equipment operator with the Local Union #66, retiring after many years of service.
He loved to go camping with his grandchildren and loved to work in his garden.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen Uplinger and her husband, Michael, of Brookville; a brother, George Nestor of Brockway; two granddaughters, Ashley Snyder and her husband, Michael, of Clarington and Jamie Boyer and her husband, Justin, of Munderf; and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Ernest Nestor; and a sister, Martha Price.
Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor John Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
