John R. Snyder Sr. of North Tonawanda, N.Y., passed away August 6, 2018, at the age of 94 after a brief illness.
Born in DuBois, Pa. Lived in Rockton, Pa.
He worked at GM Tonawanda Engine Plant for 33 years, retiring in 1986.
John was a Navy World War II veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater from 1943-46.
He was the son of the late Paul R. Snyder and Minnie (Hollopeter) Snyder. Married for 69 years to the late Mary Jane (McDonald) Snyder. Dear father of John (Kim) Snyder Jr., William P. (Marybeth) Snyder, the late Lorrie M. (Jank) Snyder, the late David C. Snyder. Brother to the late Carl Snyder, the late Pauline Waite, the late Elnora Michel, Robert Snyder and James Snyder.
He enjoyed Nascar, baseball (Pirates), football (Steelers), Glen Miller, country western music, reading and ice cream.
Burial to be in Rockton Cemetery.
