Joseph Vida passed away March 31, 2015. He resided in Lomita, Calif. since 1970.
Born in DuBois in 1934, Joe moved to California in 1959.
Joe graduated from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster in 1955. In 1964, Joe and hometown friend Mick Salamone opened The Bachelor Bar and Restaurant in Inglewood, Calif. Joe served as proprietor until 1989. His time at The Bachelor was bookended between two successful stints in the aerospace industry.
Everyone he touched, but especially his wife and two sons, will miss his fierce loyalty, extreme generosity, and undying commitment to those he loved.
He is survived by wife, Claire; sons, Joseph and David (Amy); granddaughter, Josephine; sister, Marlene; nephews, Gary and Greg; niece, Kristen Goodwin; and sister in-law, Patti.
He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Mary; and brothers, Hilary and Gary Sr.
Catholic funeral and burial services were held in Los Angeles County April 8.
