Mr. Joseph C. Paretti passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, in Somerset, N.J. He was 97 years old.
Born, June 8, 1918, in Weedville, to Itilio and Louisa (Bonafini) Peretti, Joseph had been a New Brunswick resident for over 67 years.
After Weedville high school Mr. Paretti joined the Civilian Conservation Corp, where he was trained to be a medic. He went on to enlist in the U.S. Army and eventually served in both the European and Pacific theaters during World War II. Joseph loved to dance and met his wife-to-be, Madeline, at a U.S.O. function at Camp Kilmer in Edison, N.J. After his military service, Mr. Paretti had a long career as a medical technician at the Ford Motor plant in Edison. Joseph was an avid hunter and fly fisherman, and loved to play the slots in Atlantic City.
Mr. Paretti was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline "Lee" (Bruno) Paretti in 1975; and by his sister, Anna DeMore.
He is survived by his brother, William Peretti of Illinois; by his sisters, Mary Goodrow, Attilia Nuccetelli, and Margaret Carpen, all of Pennsylvania; and by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Friends will be received from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug.15, 2015, at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Force, with the Rev. Father Richard Allen officiating. Burial will take place at the church cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Valley Legion Post 978 Burial Detail.
