Joseph Elnicki, 84, West Liberty Road, DuBois, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born June 13, 1930, in West Liberty, DuBois, he was the son of the late Michael and Theresa Procko Elnicki.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War Conflict.
Joseph worked for Brockway Glass for 37 years in the Central Maintenance Department Travel-Group.
He was a lifetime member of the James J. Patterson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 813, the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17, the IPS Club and a member of the Olympic Club. He enjoyed golfing and traveling.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by four sisters: Ann Zedick, Olga Brown, Mary Williams and Nellie Muscato: and four brothers, John, Andrew, Nicholas and Paul Elnicki.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at the funeral home with the Rev. Fr. Robert Carl officiatinf. Full military honors will be accorded from the funeral home by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Burial will be in Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery in Sykesville.
