Joseph Henry LaRock, 84, Rockton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015 at Punxsutawney Hospital.
He was born Aug. 30, 1931, in Kinport, Pa., son of the late Andrew and Dorothy (Mason) LaRock. He was married to Charmaine (Sallack) LaRock, who preceded him in death in 1995.
Joseph was a 1949 graduate of DAHS.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of Bethel Church of the Brethren in Sabula. He was a self-employed and fleet truck driver for many years, also worked as a mechanic. He was a Union Township Supervisor and Road Boss for 18 years.
Joseph is survived by four children: Mrs. Randy (Sherry) Sherwood, DuBois, Joseph R. LaRock and wife Tena, DuBois, Jeffrey D. LaRock and wife Rebecca, Beechwoods and Mrs. James (Susan) Jones, N.C.; one brother, Harry LaRock, Armaugh, Pa.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Joseph was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lottie LaRock and Grace Yopchick; a great-granddaughter, Anna Elaine LaRock; and a cousin he was raised with, Margaret Nupp.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, and from noon - 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rockton Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
