Joseph L. Cappetta, 84, Brockway, passed away Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014 at Highland View Health Care Center in Brockway.
Born Dec. 30, 1929, in Altoona, he was the son of the late Louis and Caroline Guarage Cappeta. Joseph was married to Alma J. Elias. She survives.
He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy.
Retired, he owned and operated Cappetta Sales & Service for 30 years.
He was a member of the V.F.W. and was a former member of the Horton Twp. Sportsmen's Club.
He is survived by two sons, Michael (Lynda) Cappetta and Stephen (Pamela) Cappetta both of Brockway; his grandchildren: Stephen, Kyle, Taylor, Katlyn Cappetta and Breanna Yohe; great-grandchildren, Tehya and Tegan; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two brothers, Anthony and James Cappeta both of Murrysville; two sisters, Rose Begali of Trafford, and Jeanie (Herbert) Slaughenhaupt of Monroeville.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Cappeta; two sisters, Betty and Mary Lou; and a son, Joseph Cappetta.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Tobias Church in Brockway with the Rev. Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Mengle Memorial Library, Brockway Ambulance Service or the .
The Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home in Brockway is in charge of arrangements.
