Joseph "Yosho" Negrey, 92, Sykesville, passed away Sunday evening at DuBois Nursing Home after a short illness.
Born March 14, 1923, in Sykesville, son of the late Joseph and Anna Masisak Negrey.
He married Frances L. "Tootie" (Kosko) Negrey on June 28, 1952, she survives in Sykesville; they were married 63 years.
Joseph was a graduate of Sykesville High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Rockwell for 42 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church. He enjoyed the Sykesville Firemen's where he was a member for 58 years, also a member of Sykesville Legion and DuBois VFW.
Joseph is also survived by many of nieces and nephews that loved and cared for him; he was the last survivor of his immediate family.
Joseph was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Negrey, and two sisters, Irene Negrey and Mary Collins.
A funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Sykesville with the Rev. Fr. Robert Karl officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard.
