Karen D. Holdren, 52, of DuBois, PA died Thursday, February 18, 2021, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Born on April 23, 1968, in Sharon, PA, she was the daughter of Anthony "Tony" and Margaret (Remigio) Direnzo. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives and lives in Sharon, PA.
On October 7, 1995, she married Todd M. Holdren. He survives.
Karen was a graduate of Kennedy Catholic High School and Slippery Rock University.
She was very active at DuBois Central Catholic as it was a big part of her life. She worked in the after-school program for many years and frequently was a substitute teacher for all grades. Karen was also very involved with various committees, fundraisers, and school activities.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and loved to vacation in Ocean City, MD.
She is survived by her children, Lauren, Hannah, and Anthony Holdren, all of DuBois, PA; and a brother, Stephen Direnzo of Sharon, PA.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.
Social distancing requirements will be followed and masks must be worn. Due to attendance regulations, we ask that you keep your visit brief to allow others to pay their respects.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 1 p.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
The mass will be live streamed and can be viewed by going to www.facebook.com/duboisromancatholicchurches.
Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
