Kenneth John McClintick, 84, Penfield, died Monday, April 27, 2015, at Penn Highlands DuBois, surrounded by his family.
Born July 27, 1930, he was the son of the late John and Helen Fox McClintick. He was married to Virginia Hope Wheeler on June 16, 1956. She survives.
Born and raised in Weedville, he lived in Penfield since 1956.
He served in the U.S. Army during Korea from 1952-54 achieving the rank of Corporal. He was a heavy equipment operator working on such jobs as the PA Turnpike and the Kinzua Dam.
He then owned and operated McClintick Logging and Excavating for many years and also worked at the Greentree Landfill after his retirement.
He enjoyed hunting, running equipment, mowing his property and eating with his friends at Rosie's Hilltop Diner.
Survivors include two children, Marvin (Tammie) McClintick of Penfield, Pam (Ken) Hand of Penfield; four sisters: Vera Kunes of St. Marys, Velma (Jim) Forsythe of Weedville, Nadine (Paul) Gray of Washington, Pa., Rita (Rodney) VanVoorhis of Weedville; one brother, Gaylon (Susan) McClintick of Weedville; five grandchildren: Nikki (Kevin) Clark, Erin Brown, Eric McClintick, Dusty (Marla) Myers and Misti Myers; and nine great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Laenee, MyKenna, Austin, Ashtyn, Brezlin, Evangeline, Virginia and Calix.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clayton McClintick.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield. Friends will also be received from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the Weedville Wesleyan Church, Weedville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the Weedville Wesleyan Church with Pastors Samuel Butler and Paul Gray. Military honors will be accorded by the Valley Legion Post 978 Burial Detail. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Weedville.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Hahne Cancer Center.
