Leon Thomas Goodford, 76, Palo Drive, Garner, N.C., formerly of DuBois, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at his home in Garner, North Carolina.
Born Feb. 14, 1939, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of the late Leon W. and Josephine (Spinda) Goodford.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
On April 28, 1962, he married Carol L. Burrs. She survives.
After 30 years of service, he retired as a welder for General Motors in Rochester, N.Y.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Three children and one granddaughter survive Leon: a dear daughter and son-in-law, Karen L. and Vincent Wright of Raleigh, N.C.; a wonderful granddaughter, Kaleigh L. Goodford of Ashville, N.C.; sons, Thomas M. Goodford (Lori) of Rochester, N.Y., and Mark W. Goodford (Lisa) of Luthersburg; also a brother, James A. Goodford of DuBois.
There will be no public visitation.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Daniel Kresinski as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in DuBois.
