Leonard Perry Ishman, 76, of Reynoldsville, Pa., died on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at his home in Reynoldsville, Pa.
Born Saturday, June 21, 1941, in Kane, Pa., he was the son of the late Merle V. Ishman and the late Edythe E. Hetrick. He was the husband of Carol A. (Leiberton) Ishman. They were married June 30, 1962, and celebrated 55 wonderful years together this year.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Vietnam era. He graduated from Reynoldsville High School class of 1959. He retired form Northfolk and Southern Railroad where he worked for 34 years.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 935, St. Martin of Tours 4th Degree, F.O. Eagles 540 and American Legion Post #392. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed woodworking and watching sports, especially NASCAR.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, R. Curtis Ishman (Melinda) of Reynoldsville, Pa.; daughters, Kimberly Reiter (David) of Sagamore Hills, Ohio and Christine Britton (Brian) of Johnstown, Pa.; sister, Andrea Yohe (Russell) of Reynoldsville, Pa.; sister-in-law, Carol Ishman of Glenn Ellyn, Ill.; six grandchildren: Brandon, Brittany, Brandi, Brooklyn, Jonnie and Adam; eight great-grandchildren: Janelle, Everett, Jude, Emerson, Amelia, Eden, Arlynn and Everly.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Burton Ishman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, located at 607 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851, with the Rev. Fr. William Barron officiating. Military honors will be preformed by the DuBois Area Honor Guard following the service. Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville, Pa.
Friends and family will be received 10 to 11 a.m. before the service.
