Lisa A. (Lyons) Rittenhouse, 52, of Treasure Lake, DuBois, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2016, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on June 11, 1964, in Lackawanna, N.Y., and was adopted by Ronald R. Lyons and Marjorie (Lankard) Lyons Baughman.
She was married to the love of her life, Jim Rittenhouse, on May 5, 1982, in Hagerstown, Md. They were blessed with a son, Joshua James Rittenhouse, on Jan. 24, 1985. She was also blessed with a wonderful grandson, Cooper James, on Oct. 3, 2012. They survive along with her mother, Marjorie Baughman, and brother, Gary Lyons, both of DuBois; three stepsisters, Barbara, Linda, and Denise; and a stepbrother, Dan.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jeannie, in 1980; her father on Jan. 24, 1972; and her stepfather, Ray Baughman, on June 18, 2010.
Lisa worked at the DuBois Nursing Home for 13 years as an administrative aide helping families. She also had worked at Fashion Bug as an assistant manager and at Doug Ell's Allstate office. She also made bracelets which she sold through her business, Get the Message.
She was a 1982 graduate of DuBois Central Christian High School.
Lisa was a very active volunteer for the American Cancer Society, specifically the DuBois Relay for Life. She was Survivor of the Year and a leader of Gramy's Gang team for the relay. She brought the JJ Weeks band to the area for a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
She was the previous chairwoman for the After 5 Christian Women.
Lisa was an active member of Shepherd's Grace Chapel in Falls Creek. She was passionate about Christian music and concerts, and she looked forward to her trips to Disney and Night of Joy every year.
Lisa fought a courageous battle against ovarian cancer. She will be missed by her many friends whom she considered family.
There will be no public visitation. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at Shepherd's Grace Chapel in Falls Creek with the Rev. Greg Sands officiating. Additional parking is available at the Falls Creek Firehall, 4 1st St., Falls Creek. Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. of DuBois.
