Lois L. Monella, age 82, of Maple Avenue, DuBois, Pa., passed away on Wednesday March 23, 2016, at her home.
Born on Oct. 2, 1933, in DuBois, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Chick) Lines.
She married Angelo V. Monella on March 22, 1952. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2011.
Mrs. Monella was a homemaker and was a volunteer at Penn Highlands Hospital. She worked on the election board for the Oklahoma Precinct in Sandy Township for many years. She was also one of the founders of the Oklahoma Elementary PTA.
Surviving are five children: Cindy Lydick and husband Steve of Falls Creek, Sue Thom and her husband Ken of Ridgway, Pat Monella and her companion Lou Jordan of Reynoldsville, David Monella of DuBois, and Daniel Monella and his wife Michelle of DuBois. Also surviving is a son-in-law, Ed Rieg of Big Run; 12 grandchildren, one step grandchild, 16 great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren; and her sister, Helen Shaw of Cabot, Pa.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorna Rieg; and a granddaughter, Sydney Rae Anthony.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, Inc., DuBois. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March, 26, 2016, at the funeral home, with Pastor Kevin Bockus officiating. Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery.
