Lorain Shaffer, 81, DuBois, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Christ the King Manor.
He was born March 24, 1933, in DuBois, the son of the late Eugene and Theresa Dixon Shaffer.
He was a graduate of Sandy High School.
After retiring as foreman from Nabisco Foods of DuBois and Altoona, he worked for Sheetz in the DuBois Area.
He was a devoted Christian and a member of DuBois Christian Missionary Alliance Church of DuBois. He was an avid reader who loved his books and reading the Bible.
He is survived by one brother, Thomas "Tim" Shaffer of Sykesville; three sisters: Dorothy Thompson of Buffalo, Linda Clark of Tyrone and Gail Shaffer of Brockway; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Robert Shaffer; and two sisters, Donna McLead and Betty Himes.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. - noon Saturday, March 28, at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois. A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Conners officiating. Burial will take place in Salem Cemetery.
